Cellardoor Tasting Room closed for tasting activities during Level 3 of Lockdown in South Africa but we are open for wine purchases Monday – Thursday between 09:00 and 17:00 or you can order your wines from our SA E-Shop.

At Delheim we are extremely proud of our atmospheric “Downstairs” cellardoor, with its famous cobwebbed window. Very little has changed here over the years since it became the birthplace of the Stellenbosch Wine Route in 1971. The patriarch of the Sperling family, Michael “Spatz” Sperling, was one of the three founder members of this wine route, from which all the other wine routes in the country originated. It is therefore imperative that we continue to provide guests with a truly unique South African hospitality experience, and to make them feel at home, in order to share our belief that a visit to Delheim really is “worth the journey”.

Upon arrival, visitors to our cellardoor will be greeted by a glass of ice cold, pure farm spring water during the hot summer months, and a glass of steaming hot glühwein in the cold winter months! The wine and cupcake pairing will tantalise your taste buds and adds a whole new dimension to pairing food with wine.

The Delheim Platter (serves 2): 3 local cheeses, Chrisna’s olives, green fig & mascarpone cheese, seasonal fruit, dolmades & pickled pumpkin served with a bread & cracker basket R245 ( Add meat for an extra R75 )

Our very popular Jazz and Cheese Fondues in the winter months, and the picture-perfect picnics in summer, are just some of the regular features on our events calendar which keeps visitors coming back for more. Please refer to the News & Events menu for updated information.

We offer a free courier service to all main centres in South Africa when purchasing 12 bottles or more (charges may apply to outlying areas). Shipping options are available for our European visitors.

Tailor-made vouchers for our restaurant, picnics and cellardoor experiences are available to suit your every need, please email cellardoor@delheim.com with your request.

Please note that on Jazz & Cheese Fondue Sundays during the Winter, tastings will be hosted in the VAT Cellar. No cupcakes or platters will be available for tasting on these Sundays, unfortunately.

For groups larger than 8, bookings are essential!
