Delheim Wine Estate is a wonderful
example of viticulture with an environmental conscience.
The Estate has taken great
care to preserve substantial tracts of pristine, montane
fynbos and has carefully developed an assortment of dams,
ponds and waterways that promote a wonderful diversity of
bird-life. In one mornings’ birding we were quickly
able to observe over 50 species of birds. We applaud Delheim’s
innovative approach to bio-diversity planning and wish then
well, as their bird list expands even further, when all the
intra-African and Paelarctic summer migrants start arriving.
