The respected German trade magazine, Weinwirtschaft has just published its annual Top 500 ‘wines of the year’ – as voted by the German wine trade. Delheim Pinotage Rosé 2007 came top in the Rosé category, beating all other rosé wines sold in Germany during 2007 and also narrowly missed inclusion in the overall Top 100 wines. According to Weinwirtschaft, this proves that German wine drinkers are opting for full colour and fruit-intensive rosé wines to enjoy. The Weinwirtschaft Top 500 ‘wines of the year’ are ranked by sales, image, clarity of product profile and good quality in relation to price enjoyment.

For around 30 years now, Delheim Pinotage Rosé has been winning international acclaim and is renowned as the quintessential South African rosé. Described as a crisp, charming and versatile wine with radiant hues of pink and a refreshing finish, Delheim Pinotage Rosé 2007 has layers of strawberry and watermelon aromas; it’s fresh, lively and fruity and is a wine that also suits non-rosé drinkers. It sells for R35 a bottle direct from the farm and is available at most leading off-trade outlets.
